Katie Swanson moved from Saint Paul, MN to the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Jason, to raise their children on their boat, the Iris Inez. Their family has been delighted to set anchor in the Kitsap Peninsula for the last 4 years. Katie has placed her former photography career on hold while helmschooling their two sons as she passionately explores all the PNW has to offer with their own children and any of the many that are often in her company. Barnacles and Bees offers another outlet for connecting children to the rhythm of the natural world. Katie enjoys embracing and being connected to nature in all her moods and splits her time between boat life on the Puget Sound and passionately exploring the snowy Mountains.
