In a time when technology has become integrated into every facet of our lives, it’s more important than ever to foster a healthy relationship with nature and the outdoors in our children from a young age. A Kitsap native, my professional background is in tech - I worked as an artist making video games for 10 years. Once I became a parent, my career has organically evolved. I spent two years working as an art teacher to kids ages 5-11 with Kitsap Art Center. It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to help children harness their creativity to express themselves and their ideas.
A former Barnacles & Bees parent mentor, I am a strong believer in free play. Being in nature has such an amazing effect on our nervous system and children gain so much from unstructured play. I look forward to sharing my love of nature and the inherent beauty in all things with our students. I am an avid lover of all animals - even the creepy ones - and it is my greatest wish for children to learn to respect and appreciate them for all they do in their ecosystems.
In my free time, I love to watch movies, play video games, and read. I have a menagerie of critters in my life between my chickens, cats, dog, tarantulas, scorpion, house plants, and of course my husband and kids.
